Giveback Sports has been in the business of giving since our inception. We send hundreds of kids from different organization all across the country to games of their choice and provide tickets, food, drinks, and parking passes in order to create a memorable experience.

Organizations have ranged from schools, homeless shelters, Boys & Girls Clubs, and more. We select stories that resonate with us and The Children of Central City was one of those. Coach Shawn Scott is dedicated to the Davis Park Panthers youth football team to provide a safe space and guidance to his young players who face the harsh reality of poverty and violence every day. We were touched by the story and sent their entire team and coaching staff to a New Orleans Pelicans NBA game with an on-court experience, plus plenty of food and drinks to enjoy.

In 2019, our goal is to go deeper with our giving to create a more lasting impact. Focusing on athletic programs in need, we dedicated ourselves to finding deserving recipients in areas we conduct business. When a few of our team members were performing site inspections in Napa and Sonoma for new client product offerings, the team in the home office was on mission to find a disadvantaged sports organization. We came across an article in the San Francisco Chronicle featuring the state of crisis in Oakland schools’ athletic programs. The article titled Half the sports are gone at Oakland high schools and girls take brunt of cuts told the sad story of just that. The Oakland school district abruptly eliminated half of its sports programs due to financial deficit and mismanagement of funds. Although we couldn’t restore the lost programs, we still wanted to do something. We purchased brand new uniforms for Coliseum College Prep boys’ and girls’ soccer teams to replace the worn and tethered 5+ year ones.

As we enter the fourth quarter and look towards 2020, we want to continue focusing our efforts to help athletic programs in need. Whether a school suffered budget cuts, an organization was affected by a natural disaster, or a team is unable to buy new uniforms or equipment, Giveback Sports will help where we can. If you or someone you may know has a program that fits our giveback criteria, benefits underserved youth, and focuses on athletics, please send us the name and contact information. We will be evaluating each submission and selecting (3) programs in the next few months to receive up to a $3,500 investment per program from Giveback Sports.
